The Position:

Our Director of Product Management will lead a team of Product Managers, Content Managers and Marketing Managers to create and promote one of Optimal’s primary media properties. Selected incumbent will deliver insights to support key business decisions, develop successful product strategies & initiatives, and support the overall product organization by identifying value-creation opportunities. An ideal candidate will have led a product team to create and promote multiple successful web properties via SEO and social media channels, with the ultimate goal of providing a best in class consumer experience. This position will report to the CEO.


Specific Responsibilities & Key Deliverables:

  • Lead an exceptional team of Product Managers, Content Managers and Marketing Managers
  • Define product vision, strategy & roadmap
  • Identify market trends & new business opportunities
  • Assess competitive challenges and deliver clear strategic recommendations
  • Define, analyze and report metrics that inform the success of products (both problem areas & opportunities)
  • Be accountable to grow traffic & revenue, as well as brand recognition & influence of one primary media property
  • Plan and direct resource schedules as well as project budgets
  • Help shape company’s overall business strategy

Requirements

Experience & Competencies Required for Success:

  • BA/BS Degree
  • 10+ years product management and leadership experience
  • Prior people management experience, with passion for leading and developing product teams
  • Proven track record of driving one or more successful consumer media products
  • Proven track record of promoting media properties across multiple channels including SEO and Social Media
  • Strong project management experience, with ability to lead cross functional teams, manage dependencies & deliver results
  • Strategic thinker, with ability to “roll up sleeves” & be part of tactical execution when needed
  • Strong analytical skills, with ability to create appropriate KPIs to measure success
  • Customer focused, with strong user empathy and ability to understand end user needs and translate into actionable strategies
  • Technically savvy & comfort with a multitude of software systems & tools
  • Sound decision-making ability
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Clear track record of getting things done in timely & efficient manner
  • Ability to remain flexible, juggle multiple priorities, & change directions as needed
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills; this individual must be able to communicate ideas and information clearly and concisely
